| Omina provides a primary view area on the screen, and two secondary screen areas. You may double-click on a secondary area to bring that item into primary focus. The unique thing about Omina is it's ability to capture handwritten notes usin g a digital ink pen. These notes are synchronized with the audio recording, so you can easily reference any point in the audio recording by simply clicking the image of your notes (after they've been transferred from the pen to the PC).

You'll see from this image that the digital pen writes on paper with ink like any other pen. However, it's capturing the penstrokes into memory as you're writing.<br>
Once the pen is docked, the data is transferred into the Omina application, and is synchronized by time to the audio recording.
Omina can record directly as a PC application with microphone input, or it can import digital audio files recorded on a portable digital recorder or on a CD or DVD.
The beauty of this solution is that ANYONE can use it to capture an audio recording that is IMMEDIATELY INDEXED according to an individual's notes. As each attendee has his or her own perceptions (and notes), a single audio recording may serve multiple attendees (who each have a digital pen).
For the attendee, there is absolutely no learning curve. They are just doing what they've always done, which is write personal notes in a journal in their own handwriting. The big difference here is that now those notes are digitized, and the clock in the pen measures ti me at the same constant rate. Omina does all the rest to synchronize the pen data with the audio recording. The digitized notes are stored in a numbered file on the computer, and the original notes are still in the paper journal.
