Axis Communications AXIS Rack Solution 3U (12-slots) 192004
The Axis Communications AXIS Rack Solution accepts up to twelve AXIS Video Blade Servers and converts their attached analog camera signals into high quality, de-interlaced digital video for transmission over a network. Blade Servers can be installed in any combination of twelve, and because it supports hot swapping, Blades can also be removed or replaced without first powering down the unit.
This Rack Solution also doesn't need to be fully populated in order for it to work, but is fully functional even with only one or two blades installed. In the event that fewer than twelve Blades are installed, included blanking panels can be used to give the unit a neat appearance and to prevent dust from entering internal electronics. A single Ethernet port connects the Rack Solution to the network, with additional ports in the back of each slot, providing alarm I/O connection and remote PTZ communication for each attached camera. The Server Rack also provides power for each installed Blade.
This Rack Solution together with installed AXIS Blades provides the necessary migration from old to new technology. This makes it an indispensable tool for established CCTV facilities looking to take full advantage of digital technology without having to replace their existing and expensive analog equipment.
Key Features
- Hot Swappable: The AXIS Rack Solution accepts up to twelve AXIS Blades, in any combination. With support for hot swapping, blades can be removed or replaced without first having to power down the unit. This will allow users in a busy CCTV environment to move blades from one server to another or swap an installed blade for one that is more appropriate for a particular camera.
- Expandable: Unlike standalone AXIS Servers, this unit was designed for easy expansion. A security facility, for instance, can start out with a single 1-port blade and as surveillance requirements grow, install additional blades, with not only more video ports, but also higher resolution and other security enhancing features.
- Remote PTZ Control: In the back of each slot is an RS-485 communication port, providing remote PTZ control for connected analog cameras.
- Alarm I/O Ports: Each slot also provides alarm I/O ports for each connected camera. This will allow connected cameras to receive and send alarm alerts over the network as with a real network camera.
